"The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco." Mark Twain He wasn't kidding. When out in San Francisco with my family in 1992, we attended a night game. It was June but it felt like February. Other than that, and the cold wind, it was a nice ballpark. Even though it was strange with its orientation because of the stands constructed for the 49er's, it didn't take away from the ballpark experience. The football seats did make the stadium feel kind of empty, since in most dual purpose stadiums rarely get use out of all the seats in the outfield upper deck. I hope to someday visit their new park.

June 1962—close encounter only. First MLB park I ever saw. The Giants were out of town during the week of a convention my Dad brought us along to. We looked into it from the outside, peering in through a fence. It was exciting just to see a major league ballpark. This was, of course, before they ruined it by totally enclosing the place for football revenue. We could see the park a long way out the back window as we drove down the road leaving San Francisco. It looked like a flying saucer.
