We visited the Home of the Braves nine days before the 9/11 attacks, when American was still innocent and carefree. September 2, 2001 was a gloomy and drizzly day -- hence the poor view of the Atlanta skyline in the photos below. There was a downpour as we drove into Atlanta that morning, and we were hugely relieved that the game was not rained out! The cheaper seats where we sat in the stratospheric nosebleed level gave a great panoramic view of the field (and downtown Atlanta), but you really need binoculars to distinguish the players faces. Turner Field lives up to its reputation as one of the better neoclassical retro stadiums: it is authentic and aesthetically pleasing on several levels.

Even when I had a bad seat, the game was watchable and enjoyable. In contrast to Fulton-Country, the field was very viewable (FCS if you sat in the upper deck had a good deal of stand obstructions blocking out a chunk of the field).
There's nothing completely spectacular about the stadium only that it's good to watch a ballgame (which is my #1 criteria!)

Have been a Cub fan for all my life, but was transplanted to Mississippi before getting to see a game at Wrigley. Fortunately, my friend came up with tickets to Turner Field in the Lexus Level. GREAT SEATS my friends. But then again, not too many bad seats from what I could tell at Turner Field. I felt like I was right above Soriano when he belted a homer. The view from our hotel also was over the old County Stadium parking lot with a view of Turner Field. I have already made plans to go back to Atlanta and watch another game @ Turner Field.

I was there in 2000 and in 2006, both day games. The second was unbearably hot. The first time we were in the second deck at the extension of the LF foul line, but the pole wasn’t in the way.The Dodger fans sitting in front of us got up and watched the rest of the game from the bar behind our seats, so we just draped our feet over the backs of their seats. We were VERY comfy. In 2006 we were in the lower deck near the same foul pole. We got up and sat the second half of the game in the cooler part of the stadium. The ushers let us sit in an unoccupied handicapped section. I put our digital camera in movie-mode just in time to see Chipper Jones hit a pinch-hit homer.
In 2006 we got to tour the stadium, which was very informative, taking trips through the clubhouse, the dugouts, the pressbox, and a luxury box. They also have a nice museum, with memorabilia from both Boston and Milwaukee.
Turner Field is a beautiful park. The entrance is behind the OF bleachers. It’s very spacious, paved with brick. And you get a picturesque view of the grandstand when you first walk in. The builders did a great job with the place.

I saw the braves play the marlins, the rockies, and the brewers here. every time my seats were PERFECT. this has got to be the most beautiful park in all of baseball, hands down

I've never been to Turner Field but my uncle helped design it for both the Olympics and baseball. He was upset about the fact that the page doesn't give credit to whoever helped design the stadium. I'm suggesting to add that.

I have been to Turner Field at least a dozen times, and sat in every possible seating section, save for the new Super Seats behind home plate. Whenever i go, we usually like to be in the outfield for BP, so this has become our regular seating options. Word to the wise-sit on the 3rd base side for night games, no matter the time of year. if you are on the first base side, you will be staring down the sun til the 4th inning, not only that but, as is stated above, summers are HOT in atlanta.
only real drawback, other than the obvious sky high food prices, is the fans. over the past few years, it is turning into LA east, with many fans not showing up til the 3rd inning. this was extremely annoying at the end of the 09 season, when the team came home for one last week to make a playoff push to crowds of 20-25K. they need to find a way to get people in the stands, people with baseball knowledge and enthusiasm, but i guess that is a lot to ask for.
all in all, very nice stadium. not quite Baltimore, but its up there. if anyone is thinking of going to a game down here, let me know and i can help you pick your seats :)

I've been to Turner Field countless times. As both a Boston and Atlanta fan, it is obvious who is currently doing the best out of the two. I have probably been to Turner the most times this year to support our #1 Braves, and am now really paying attention to its beauty. The red brick, open outfield, and the view of the small skyline ATL has to offer I didn't ever appreciate before. Just a few weeks ago, I saw Balt., Wash., and Phili, which provided points of reference. Though impressive, those stadiums didn't feel quite as open and home-like as Turner does. Turner seems to have so many more fan interaction bonuses around the park. Such interaction is obviously valued. And the food prices are just about the same as the others. Also, I think Turner does a much better job catering to all sorts of wallet depth for seat pricing. After visiting these other iconic ballparks, I went to a home game against the Brewers. Seeing Atlanta win two in a row at Phili made it a bummer to see them loose to Milwaukee, but it felt real nice to be home. Plus, the 755 Club access didn't hurt.
P.S. Thanks for this site Mr. Clem; it gives a teenage enthusiast something to do to stay out of trouble.

Saw the Braves v. the Mets on June 21, 2015 with my wife and then almost-five-year-old son. I was impressed by my visit to Turner Field. The atmosphere was much more party-like than I am used to, (being from St. Louis, where we take our baseball VERY seriously) which led to a more relaxed time. The exterior of this park is breath-taking, simply oozing of sports history. It had a very nostalgic feel, which was in contrast with the interior. While very nice, the inside felt like a bit of a by-gone era, with blue outfield walls and an anti-septic feel. Almost "not retro enough to look new", if that makes sense. The staff was great, and the fans we welcoming and fun.

Don't you think that this page is due for an update now that SunTrust Park is open in suburban Smyrna,GA? Turner Field is now being retrofit once again this time for Georgia State Panthers Football (and possibly other outdoor sports such as soccer and track and field (doubt that one though because that functionality was removed after the Atlanta Olympic Summer Games). A working SunTrust Park page, as well as an Atlanta Fulton County Stadium page that accesses from the site map main page is also needed here. Any retro park that has a live organist also gets a high rating from me.

I never had a problem with "the TED". The video board was huge, and the facility itself was beautiful. I was always amazed that they designed it to be altered after the Olympic games of 1996. Shear genius, in my opinion. Unfortunately, just like Atlanta Fulton County Stadium, the neighborhood kept too many patrons away.
