I saw a You Tube video about the Gator Flop in 1971 when UF played Miami. Following a controversial decision to let the Hurricanes score so that there would be time for John Reaves to break some passing records on the followng posession, the Gators took a victory dip into a pool in the east end zone. Speaking of the old Orange Bowl, there were several Winter League playoffs and amateur tournaments played there, with riduculously short outfield distances and screen walls (a la the LA Coliseum). The Orange Bowl and LA Coliseum should easily have had the baseball diamonds set up to have home plate to second base to CF face straight east and with some removal of sideline seating, easily had been decent baseball setups reminiscent of Cleveland Stadium and Balto Memorial Stadium.
