EXPLANATORY NOTES:

All stadiums built after the 1920s were publically owned, except for those indicated by italics. Other MLB team is listed if the stadium was shared during a regular season. * Asterisks indicate the "junior partner" which used it in which World Series. (Parentheses indicate use for two years or less.) (parentheses) : on same site as prior ballpark.

[ brackets ] : adjacent to prior ballpark.
* : excludes Federal League
@ Hiatus (vacant for at least one year) # Partial demol-ition In cases of multi-year renovations, only the "peak" year is shown. # The 2021 All-Star Game was moved from Atlanta to Denver for political reasons. * Stadium was used in the World Series by the "junior partner" in a sharing situation. The 1921, 1922, and 1944 World Series were played entirely in one stadium, since both teams used them as "home." See Anomalous stadiums (shared).
** Stadium was "borrowed" by the team from the other league in the same city for use in the World Series.
# In 2020, all World Series games were played in Arlington, Texas due to the coronavirus.

General explanation

This page highlights the key "milestone" events in each of the current and past Major League Baseball stadiums, especially All Star Games and World Series games, but also including championship games from the National Football League, World Cup soccer, and the Olympics. The first four columns of data (years) on this page formerly appeared on the Stadium statistics page. Stadiums are listed in chronological order, according to when they were first used in the major leagues, not necessarily when they were built. The standard names of stadiums are used, not necessarily the current names or the names in effect during the World Series, etc. in question.

This page was first posted on November 24, 2012.
